Douyin, the Chinese TikTok sister app, says it has taken action against 417,000 accounts that promoted or enabled gambling as it steps up its World Cup crackdown.
The app, the brainchild of the tech giant ByteDance, stated that it had flagged all the accounts within the past month. This move comes as part of its efforts to clamp down on illegal gambling activities surrounding the World Cup.
According to Chinese media outlet CNR, Douyin's recent actions highlight its commitment to ensuring a safe and compliant online environment for its users.
