Meta is being threatened with legal action by Dutch gambling trade body VNLOK over alleged failures to prevent illegal gambling ads from appearing on its platforms.
VNLOK, which includes members like bet365, Unibet, and LeoVegas, is preparing a formal complaint to the European Commission regarding the proliferation of unauthorized gambling advertisements on Meta's platforms.
The trade body accuses Meta of inadequately controlling the presence of illicit gambling promotions, prompting them to escalate the issue to the EC for further investigation and potential regulatory action.
