A ban on sweepstakes casinos in Oklahoma will be enforced starting November 1, following lawmakers overriding Governor Kevin Stitt's veto of SB1589.

A ban on sweepstakes casinos is set to take effect in Oklahoma on November 1 after legislators successfully overrode Governor Kevin Stitt's veto of SB1589. Despite the Governor's veto earlier in the week, the Senate managed to overturn it with a 34-10 vote, and the House further supported the decision with a 68-19 vote. Consequently, the bill is now in the process of being filed with the Secretary.
