Italian soccer players Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Fagioli have been handed criminal punishments over their illegal gambling activity.

Both players, who have already served suspensions for gambling on soccer, now face further consequences through criminal prosecution. The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has imposed a 10-month ban on Tonali and a 7-month ban on Fagioli, starting from October 2023.

These actions highlight the strict stance against illegal gambling in sports, emphasizing the consequences that professional athletes may face for engaging in such activities.
