Police have arrested a South Korean man accused of stealing and selling beef products worth $2.4 million from a farming co-operative to pay for illegal bets and crypto investments.

The unnamed former co-operative employee, a resident of Gangwon Province, is set to face charges of embezzlement and theft, as reported by the South Korean news agency Yonhap. Authorities mentioned that the individual used the stolen funds to fuel a gambling spree and invest in cryptocurrencies.

The police investigation revealed that the suspect had been involved in the illicit activities for some time before being apprehended. The case sheds light on the lengths to which individuals may go to finance their gambling habits.
