Unlicensed gambling sponsors in the UK could face a sports ban starting in 2027 as the DCMS considers making sponsorship deals with unlicensed operators a criminal offense.

The UK's Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has initiated an eight-week consultation to prohibit unlicensed gambling operators from sponsoring British sports. This move could impact sponsorship deals with clubs like Everton and Chelsea, as well as arrangements with Formula 1.
