Former U.S. Congressman George Santos has resolved a probe by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) by agreeing to pay a fine exceeding $35,000. The allegations involved claims of Santos benefiting unlawfully from trading on a Kalshi market related to his State of the Union attendance earlier this year.
Although Santos did not acknowledge any misconduct, he opted to settle the matter by accepting the fine imposed by the CFTC.
